We are proud and excited to offer Class IV Laser Therapy here at Phoenix Integrated Medical! Also known as laser therapy, it is one of the most effective treatments for our patients experiencing pain.
What is Laser Therapy?
Laser Therapy is a colloquial term for Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy).
It is a type of light therapy using infrared lasers or LEDs to: improve healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Treatments take about 10 minutes and should be applied two or more times a week by our experienced staff.
The PBM Laser interacts with tissues at the cellular level, increasing activity within the cell which improves the transportation of nutrients across the cell membrane. This transportation initiates the release of nitric oxide, which has been proven to result in numerous beneficial effects such as improving oxygen intake to the cells, cellular function, and overall health.
Laser therapy has been used for many years on sports injuries, arthritic joints, neuropathic pain syndromes, back pain, and neck pain. Patient conditions that have been clinically proven to improve with Laser Treatment include, but are not limited to: Tendinopathies, Carpal Tunnel, Myofascial Trigger Points, Epicondylitis, Sprains, Plantar Fasciitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Shoulder Back & Knee Pain, Skin Conditions, Fibromyalgia.
The largest patient base for laser therapy comes from British and US military, Premier Division soccer teams, Olympic teams, Formula One auto racers, rugby and cricket team therapists, as well as specialist pain clinics in the UK and USA.
